The main objective of the assignment is to carry out necessary studies for preparation of “Detailed Design & Engineering Report” (DPR) for both the identified BRT corridors for its implementation under a engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) methodology. The project report will also include the issues related to integration of existing transportation linkages i.e. Public Transport, Metro, Railways, Private Vehicles, Airport bound Traffic etc., and the report should suggest measures for enhancing and seamlessly linking all the existing transport systems with the proposed BRT corridors. The focus of the DPR is development of road infrastructure to suit BRT corridors as well as improvement of the abutting road network around the proposed corridors in order to provide smooth traffic flow and prepare traffic management & operational plan for the BRT Corridors including the approach roads in the project influence area. While planning for all the services & systems, existing resources in optimum way should be utilized. The DPR would inter-alia’ include detailed structural designs for the carriage way, the junctions, major road intersections and indication of necessary modifications for smooth traffic flow, signaling with the use of Intelligent Transport System (ITS), location of pedestrian sub ways, footpaths, foot bridges, bus bays, passenger information system & other passenger amenities including road signage and street furniture

    The ever-compelling need to provide more road space for growing number of vehicles meant that newer infrastructure investments are more focused on personal vehicles than the need for allocating space for other modes like walking, cycling and public transport. Pedestrians are most vulnerable in a traffic accident; hence improving conditions for the safety of the pedestrians has been stressed at the central, state and local levels. Thus, there arises the need for building adequate transport infrastructure facilities to ensure the safety of pedestrians and allow smooth flow of vehicles. Keeping the same in mind, the New Delhi Municipal Council appointed DIMTS to provide turnkey consultancy services for the development of FOB’s subways and vehicular underpasses at various locations in Delh

The Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company Limited (JUIDO) has been entrusted with the assignment of Redevelopment / Renovation of Bus Stands in the State of Jharkhand and the project is being funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB). DIMTS has been appointed by JUIDCO to carry out the studies pertaining to preparation of Detailed Project Report for Redevelopment / Renovation of 08 Bus stands

The main objective of the consultancy service is to establish the technical, economical, and financial viability of the project and prepare feasibility cum detailed project report for Redevelopment / Renovation of 08 Bus stands. Construction of Cluster Bus Depot at Various Locations in Delhi
PMC [DIMTS].This Depot was developed over an area of 10.5 acres to accommodate 250 nos., of cluster buses under cluster No-2. Construction for this depot was started in Mar’ 2012 and completed in April 2013. However the operation from this depot with part fleet of 50 buses was started in Sep’2012.
Rajghat-II, New Delhi
This Depot was developed in 2013-14 over the unused available land of 4 acres transferred from DTC to Transport Department, GNCTD for housing of 100 cluster buses under cluster-6 & 7 out of 17 clusters. This depot is situated opposite the existing DTC depot at Rajghat on Outer Ring Road.

Dichauon Kalan-II, New Delhi
This depot was developed between Feb’2016 to Dec’ 2016 on 5.17 acres of land on main Najafgarh-Nangloi Road just opposite the existing DTC Depot, for housing of 125 nos., of buses pertaining to cluster-9
Dwarka Sector-22, New Delhi
This depot has been constructed on 5 acres of land situated on UER-II, within the premises and as a part of ISBT Dwarka for parking 100 and garaging of 250 buses. An additional space of 5 acres has also been developed by providing of paver blocks for parking of 150 nos., of buses, until the Dwarka ISBT comes to its existence. Thus ideally it has an area of 10 acres for parking & garaging of 250 nos., of buses


4. Rani Khera-I, II & III, New Delhi

These bus depots have been constructed during 2016-17 over an area of 18.6 acres which is divided into 3 depots i.e. Rani Khera-I, II & III, allotted to 3 Concessionaires for operation, parking & maintenance of 440 nos., of cluster buses. These depots are situated on link road 100 mtr away from main Madanpur-Dabas Road connecting Mundka metro station to Kanjhawala
Burari, Delhi
The depot is being developed on 6.76 acre of two land parcels on either side of Burari Transport Authority road. An area of 4.44 acres extracted from existing IDTR adjoining the main entry of IDTR is being developed for parking & garaging of 116 nos., of Cluster buses. However the existing AIU [Auto Inspection Unit] having an area of 2.22 acres situated across the road just opposite the IDTR is being developed as part of Burari bus depot, only for parking of 78 nos., of cluster buses at night. Within this AIU part of depot, in day time the Auto Inspection facilities will take place and at night it will be used by concessionaire for parking of buses. This depot will facilitate 194 nos., of buses for parking & garaging in both the parts of bus depot.
Development of City Bus Depot at Various Locations in Gurugram

Project: Development of Bus Depot facilities at various locations in Gurugram for implementation of city bus service.

Client: Municipal Corporation of Gurugram [MCG] / Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority [GMDA], Govt. of Haryana
Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon [MCG], being a statutory Authority Constituted under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, acting through its Commissioner and having its office at C-1, Infocity Sector-34, Gurugram along with Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority [GMDA], constituted as a statutory authority acting through its “Chief Executive Officer” and having its office at Plot No.3, Sector-44, near HUDA City Centre, Gurugram, Haryana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 9th day of May’ 2017 with DIMTS Ltd., to associate as partner in making available its knowledge resources and expertise including resources for implementation of solutions for public transportation and city bus operation

As per para 1.2 of aforementioned MOU, DIMTS is committed to partner its available knowledge resources to operate city buses in Gurugram millennium city. In view to provide a sustainable public transport system and to avoid dependability on private vehicles by the general public, MCG/GMDA has mandate to operate a dedicated bus service under corporatization scheme namely city bus. For successful operation and better efficiency, dedicated bus depots within the vicinity are essentially required for parking & garaging of these buses. In process to develop bus depots, nine land parcels at different locations have been identified. DIMTS has expertise to develop such bus depot facilities from concept to commissioning & handing over to the user and willing to render its services for aforementioned work.

Bus Depots developed by DIMTS in Gurugram

Sector-10, Gurugram



This bus depot is developed within 6.64 acres of land for housing 125 buses and well connected with National Highway No. 8 / Excess Control Expressway of Gurugram at Hero Honda Chowk and residential area of Sector-10 as well as Basai village of old Gurugram
Sector-52/53, Gurugram

This bus depot is developed within 4.58 acres of land situated adjoining the Rapid Metro Yard near Sector-52/53 Rapid Metro station for housing 75 buses and well connected with Golf Course Extension & Sohna-Gurugram Road.
3. Sector-10 [Extension], Gurugram

This bus depot is extension of existing bus depot, being developed at 5.71 acres of remaining land at Sector-10 in Gurugram for housing 114 nos of buses and well connected with National Highway No. 8 / Excess Control Expressway of Gurugram at Hero Honda Chowk and residential area of Sector-10 as well as Basai village of old Gurugram.
4. Sector-48, Gurugram
This is developed within 7.29 acres of land situated on the right hand side of divided road of Sector-33 & 48 [while moving from Hero Honda Chowk towards Subhash Chowk] and well connected with National Highway No.8 / Excess Control Expressway of Gurugram at Hero Honda Chowk and developing Sector-33,34, 48 & 72 and old Gurugram as well.
5. Sector-65, Gurugram
The electric bus industry is on the verge of large scale expansion across the globe. In view of this, Government of India [GOI] has also set a target for becoming 100% electric in public transport by 2030. GOl under National Electric Mobility Mission Plan [NEMMP]-2020, has introduced the FAME scheme in the year 2015-16 to provide fiscal incentives for procurement of electric vehicles including electric buses. In pursuance to the above, GMDA has also decided to operate electric buses in Millennium city Gurugram through GMCBL. GMDA has further identified a land parcel of approximately 6.94 acres at Sector-65 behind HVPNL GIS Substation, for development of electric bus depot for housing electric buses



Renovation/ Retrofitting Work in Various Location in New Delhi

Project: Repair/Renovation of Cluster Bus Depot at Seema Puri, Delhi

The existing DTC bus depot admeasuring approximate 4.3 acres was made functional in December 1974 by Delhi Transport Corporation [DTC]. Transport Department, GNCTD, few years back had allotted this depot for operation of Cluster buses to Cluster-7. Since the depot was constructed about 43 years back and was not maintained properly during usages therefore most of the structural members of the buildings are in dilapidated condition. On request of concerned Concessionaire, Transport Department, GNCTD has instructed DIMTS to take up the repair / renovation of the depot. The renovation works was undertaken by DIMTS as PMC during 2018-2019 without disrupting the ongoing operation activities.

Project: Renovation of Zonal office at Sector 10, Dwarka, New Delhi

The Zonal Office of Transport Department, GNCTD at Dwarka Sector-10, New Delhi was being operated temporarily from the existing DTC bus Terminal. There was no facility available to sit & wait for the public coming to Zonal Office, due to lack of space. Apart from this the available space was quite insufficient to cater the huge crowd. The existing building was approximately 165.60 Sq Mtr of covered area having 7 counters. It consists of one small toilet block, four BQSs and one existing open shed of approximately 211.48 Sq Mtr of area. To facilitate general public and to accommodate the day to day crowd, apart from the renovation of existing building, new building was constructed including the existing shed. An total covered area of 6,600 Sq ft, with centralised air conditioning and other ultramodern facilities has been developed in 2017-18 for smooth functioning without disrupting any ongoing operational activities

Modernization & Retrofitting of Bus Terminal at Various Locations in New Delhi

The most of the existing DTC bus terminals in NCT of Delhi require serious renovations and retrofits. There are lack of proper security, accessibility, lighting and openness, clean toilets and other basic amenities. Hence most of the commuters prefer to alight and board the bus at the gates of the terminal and avoid entering into the oppressive space inside the terminal. This creates a traffic mess on the main road. Modernization of these terminals are expected to fix & address these issues. In view to promote public transport in NCT of Delhi, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Govt., of NCT of Delhi has decided to upgrade & modernize eight selected bus terminals to the international standards to improve the comfort, accessibility, safety and usability of the commuter.
The task of modernization & retrofitting of bus terminals were assigned to DIMTS as Project Management Consultant [PMC] by Transport Department, GNCTD vide letter dated 7th Sep’2018. DIMTS has expertise in prioritizing the public transport and providing support infrastructure. DIMTS further engage Space Matters as Detailed design Consultant to render specific services such as world class infrastructure with ultramodern passenger facilities. Global and local case studies and good practices in design of bus terminals and stations were taken up by DIMTS & Space Matters. The study highlighted that emerging global shift in the planning of bus terminals was moving from planning for buses to designing for people, from efficient space planning to Place-making and towards integration of smart technology. Over and above upgrading the bus infrastructure, the project proposes to revamp the quality of the bus terminal as a public space by providing public facilities, a weather protected and convenient waiting space and smart infrastructure to encourage commuters.
