Pre-feasibility and Feasibility Study
The pre-feasibility and feasibility studies are carried out to ascertain the viability of the project. The studies are based on the extensive traffic surveys, transport model development, projections of travel demand and various sensitivity analyses. The economic and financial appraisals are undertaken to justify the value of money that would be required to be invested in construction, operation and maintenance of the project. In brief, the following components are involved in carrying out the pre-feasibility and feasibility study:
- Review and appreciation of existing travel characteristics of the study area
- Data collection and analysis
- Transport network development
- Model development, calibration and validation
- Forecasting and traffic assignment
- Preliminary cost estimates
- Economic and financial appraisal
