Project: Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Providing Project Management Services for Up-Gradation/Renovation of Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), located at Kashmere Gate, Delhi
Client: Transport Department, GNCTD & Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.

Delhi and NCR region have been witnessing a major spurt in urbanization since the last few years resulting in an overload on the transport infrastructure. Promoting buses as a preferable mode of transport requires not only an improvement in quality of services of buses but also it needs supporting infrastructure. Thus, Transport Department has been entrusted to renovate / upgrade / redevelop / develop Multi-Modal Transit Hubs which shall provide better passenger amenities, and will connect commuters with other modes of Transport. DIMTS was awarded the work to carry out the services required for redevelopment ISBT and Development of Hotel and Passenger Facilities Complex at Kashmere Gate ISBT on Land of approx. 5.3 Hectares.

The Maharana Pratap Inter-State Bus terminal at Kashmere Gate is the oldest and largest ISBT in India catering public transport (Intercity and Intra-city buses) from and within Delhi to other states including Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc.

Salient Features of the project
  • Separate provision for intra-city and intercity bus services has been provided.
  • Integration of ISBT with Metro Station.
  • Pedestrian linkage has been provided.
  • The design factors in all necessary basic space requirements, passenger traffic requirements and Engineering Details for various aspects and functions of the ISBT.
  • Provision of escalators and sufficient capacity elevators.
  • Provision of ventilation and air conditioning of the Terminal.

Project: Construction of Bus depot at various locations in NCT of Delhi to facilitate Cluster buses for parking and garaging
Client: Transport Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi

Govt. of NCT of Delhi has assigned the responsibility of providing an efficient public transportation system, policy making, co-ordination, monitoring and regulatory function of all transport related aspects in the National Capital Territory of Delhi to Transport Department. Since the blue line buses which were plying in NCT of Delhi before Commonwealth games, were termed as killer buses due to rash driving and misbehaviour of the staff with passengers, it was felt necessary to replace the entire fleet by systematically controlled operation. In process to phase out the blue line buses from Delhi, Govt. of NCT of Delhi had decided to replace the existing fleet managed by individual proprietors with a Corporate/s etc. In view of this, entire Delhi has been divided into 17 route Clusters based on the geographical area of the origin of routes. The operator for this purpose was required to be choose through competitive bidding by open tendering. For successful operation and better efficiency, dedicated cluster bus depots within the vicinity are essentially required for parking & garaging of these cluster buses.

As per the conditions of Concession agreement signed between Transport Department and private operator, providing parking and garaging facilities within the secured premises for private stage carriage buses under Cluster Scheme, in terms of a cluster bus depot was under the obligation of Transport Department.

DIMTS has expertise to develop such bus depot facilities from concept to commissioning & handing over to the user and willing to render its services, Transport Department assigned this responsibility to DIMTS as Project Management Consultant [PMC].

The key facilities proposed / constructed at various bus depots:-
  • Double storied Administrative Building & Driver’s rest room on RCC Frame Structure,
  • Workshop building – MS frame structure & K-Span Roofing with load/ non load bearing walls,
  • Effluent Treatment Plant along with underground RCC tank,
  • Fire-fighting system in entire premises, smoke detector & fire alarm system in Offices
  • Rain water harvesting pits, land scaping & transplantation of existing trees,
  • Separate toilet facilities for males & females for crew and office staff,
  • Hard-standing by providing Pavement Quality Concrete in parking & circulation area,
  • Footpath & walkways on periphery to facilitate cyclist & pedestrian movement,
  • Reinforced Cement Concrete Servicing pits for servicing & maintenance of buses,
  • Installation & Commissioning of 400 KVA electric sub-station & Solar System.
Scope of Work undertaken by DIMTS as PMC:

  • Preparation of Preliminary Estimate / Preliminary Designs.

Project: Development of Bus Depot facilities at various locations in Gurugram for implementation of city bus service
Client: Municipal Corporation of Gurugram [MCG] / Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority [GMDA], Govt. of Haryana

Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon [MCG], being a statutory Authority Constituted under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, acting through its Commissioner and having its office at C-1, Infocity Sector-34, Gurugram along with Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority [GMDA], constituted as a statutory authority acting through its “Chief Executive Officer” and having its office at Plot No.3, Sector-44, near HUDA City Centre, Gurugram, Haryana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 9th day of May’ 2017 with DIMTS Ltd., to associate as partner in making available its knowledge resources and expertise including resources for implementation of solutions for public transportation and city bus operation.

As per para 1.2 of aforementioned MOU, DIMTS is committed to partner its available knowledge resources to operate city buses in Gurugram millennium city. In view to provide a sustainable public transport system and to avoid dependability on private vehicles by the general public, MCG/GMDA has mandate to operate a dedicated bus service under corporatization scheme namely city bus. For successful operation and better efficiency, dedicated bus depots within the vicinity are essentially required for parking & garaging of these buses. In process to develop bus depots, nine land parcels at different locations have been identified. Project: Consultancy Services for Detailed Design and Engineering Report for BRTS in Delhi.
Client: Transport Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi

The main objective of the assignment is to carry out necessary studies for preparation of “Detailed Design & Engineering Report” (DPR) for both the identified BRT corridors for its implementation under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) methodology. The project report will also include the issues related to integration of existing transportation linkages i.e. Public Transport, Metro, Railways, Private Vehicles, Airport bound Traffic etc., and the report should suggest measures for enhancing and seamlessly linking all the existing transport systems with the proposed BRT corridors. The focus of the DPR is development of road infrastructure to suit BRT corridors as well as improvement of the abutting road network around the proposed corridors in order to provide smooth traffic flow and prepare traffic management & operational plan for the BRT Corridors including the approach roads in the project influence area. While planning for all the services & systems, existing resources in optimum way should be utilized. The DPR would inter-alia’ include detailed structural designs for the carriage way, the junctions, major road intersections and indication of necessary modifications for smooth traffic flow, signaling with the use of Intelligent Transport System (ITS), location of pedestrian sub ways, footpaths, foot bridges, bus bays, passenger information system & other passenger amenities including road signage and street furniture
